A professional development morning for self-producing artists at Rosorcas Festival. Experienced producer Kath Gorman of Promenade will lead this interactive session taking artists through the nuts & bolts of producing as well as the more strategic considerations for developing your work.

Are you a self-producing artist? Or a new or emerging producer wanting to work in socially engaged contexts? Or from a community project wanting to know more about producing?


Then join us for this day long workshop opportunity with experienced producer Kath Gorman of Promenade.


The workshop will examine:


  • The roles and responsibilities of what producers do in the collaborative arts space

  • The key skills and qualities needed as a producer for developing collaborative projects

  • The differences between producing events and collaborative projects


Kath will also take you through the nuts and bolts of producing, such as how to get your project idea off the ground, budgeting, best practice in building and managing relationships with communities of interest/place as well as sourcing potential partners. She will provide case studies and real life examples from her years as a producer – both the positives and the challenges!


You’ll also come away with templates and resources to help you in planning your activities.

  • A statement of interest as to why you wish to participate (100-200 words an up to date biography (150 words)

  • Any skills gaps you feel you have in this area

Arts Producing Knowhow - Making your idea a reality

Professional development morning for artists, emerging producers and local communities who want to put on arts events/develop arts projects.


Experienced producer Kath Gorman of Promenade will take artists through the nuts & bolts of producing e.g. budgeting, marketing, project planning, the role of the producer, how to get their project idea off the ground and top tips for working with and finding the right producer.
