Producer Event at Daring Dames

Talk: Producing in a Festival and Rural Context

Join us for a Producers Network event at Daring Dames on May 24th at Mulranny Arts Centre. The event is hosted by Promenade with a special spotlight on producing in a festival and rural context. This event is for producers from any artistic field – whether you’re just starting out or more experienced. An opportunity to connect and meet like-minded peers in a supportive environment.

Schedule for the Producer Event

  • 1pm - 2pm: Networking & free lunch

  • 2pm - 3pm: Panel discussion on producing in a festival and rural context including Dea Birkett (Daring Dames) and Tara McGowan (Cairde Sligo Arts Festival) and chaired by Kath Gorman (Promenade)

  • 3.15pm - 4.45pm: Free 25-minute 1-on-1 mentoring sessions with experienced producers for any questions you have.

This Producer Event is hosted by Promenade as part of their Producer Network activities and funded by The Arts Council/Creative Production Supports Scheme.


Available Bursaries for the Producer Event

Are you an Emerging Producer?


Promenade are delighted to be offering 5 micro bursaries to attend Producing in a festival & rural context as part of Daring Dames Festival Friday the 24th of May.


Are you someone with limited or no producing experience? But interested in finding out more? Are you based outside Mayo? Or perhaps you are from a section of the community underrepresented in the arts, i.e. you identify as a minority or disadvantaged group?

Then this opportunity is for you!


Bursary Details

Each bursary is valued at €150 and can be used to cover your costs such as travel, food and accommodation for this year's Daring Dames Festival*.


How to apply:

  • The floor is yours. You can apply by sending us a short video testimonial, a quick voice note recording, or a short written statement into why you should attend and the value it will add to your career development.

  • A video or voice note recording should be no more than 2 minutes and a written statement should be no more than 250 words.


Simply email contact@promenade.ie by Wednesday 1st May at 5pm with your application and the subject line ‘Promenade Bursaries Daring Dames’.
