One of Promenade’s aspirations is to help build a more skilled, connected, networked, diverse and better resourced Producer field for the arts. The need for more producing support was a key sectoral issue identified by artists in the Cork City Council and ISACS 2021 Streets Ahead programme, resulting in a sectoral working party of various individuals and arts organisations including Promenade. During 2022 and 2023 Promenade also carried out our own mapping of the producer field in Ireland particularly for circus, street arts and spectacle, with over 50% of respondents identifying as artist self-producers.
